The simple reason being that Microsoft did not write a program for Mac for Publisher. If someone sends you a Publisher file, you cannot open it on a Mac. They sure could send it as a PDF, and you can view the file, but the catch is if someone sends the file and wants to share it for editing, etc., no go. Best Answer: Microsoft does not make a version of Publisher for Mac. The only way you can get your Publisher files to function is to export them on your Windows computer to a different file format and then use them on the Mac.
